To All HAS Clients:

In the January 8, 2020  CMS Home Health/Hospice/DME Open door forum  CMS provided information about issues reported since the 1/1/2020 implementation of PDGM and the update to iQIES and the new CMS quarterly update file:

  • During a quarterly update, CMS regularly holds all claim submissions for 14 days after the update, however, RAP submissions were normally paid. This quarterly update has a broader impact because it also updates the system for PDGM. Therefore, all PDGM RAP submissions with From dates on or after 1/1/2020 are also being held until 1/14/2020. CMS did announce this in an outreach on December 5, 2019.  CMS also confirmed that some RAPs have rejected for invalid HIPPS in error and this will be corrected prior to 1/14/2020.
  • iQIES has experienced many rejections of records – CMS is aware of the problems and asks that providers do NOT resubmit these records until CMS has announced the issues have been corrected. This includes errors for modified records, no matching records (on an initial submission) and inactivation records with wrong correction number.
  • At the request of a comment from the call, CMS will be publishing a list of current known issues with iQIES system errors.

Please refer to your MAC and iQIES for the latest updates on these issues.
