Level Of Care
The Level of Care is used to identify the Medicare hospice benefit levels for patients in conjunction with where the patient received care. Level of Care is assigned to the patient in the Clinical Patient Profile and can be viewed in the Billing Module in the Patient file Other tab. Required for hospice patients.
Go to File > File Maintenance > Category, press Change Type and set the radio button to Level of Care.
To Add a Level of Care: Press the Add button. Assign a Code and enter a Description. The Codes must be entered as ROUTINE, CONTINUOUS, RESPITE or INPATIENT. Bill to Charge: Assign the per diem charge to be used when creating "Level of Care" charges when the Charge>Hospice LOC Report is run. Press Save when done.
